Briefly about Ranch Aurora

RanchAurora is located 50 km from the capital of Sofia in the heart of Stara Planina - Old Mountain, in a very clean and beautiful area of Bulgaria. Near the ranch are the Skaklya waterfall, the Ivan Vazov eco trail, restaurants and incredible panoramic views. The ranch offers time spent surrounded by rich nature, riding lessons for beginners and advanced, trips, spaces for events, possibility of catering with full and professional attention to each guest. The project for the ranch started as a sincere love for the noble animal – the horse, for freedom and for health. Subsequently, this love had to be shared and the horse stables opened its doors first in the town of Svoge. After proving itself as a name, concept and professionalism, the ranch found its perfect place in the village of Zasele, near the town of Svoge. A place where it can expand to 30 acres of land and offer its customers much more. Since then we have been a preferred destination for everyone who shares this love. The ranch has a stable with modern stalls, a rectangular and round arenas for training horses and riders, changing rooms and sanitary facilities, with a training track with a variety of exercises and obstacles to prepare for riding in nature, a place to relax and eat next to our favorite pond and numerous routes starting from the ranch to unique places in the area.

We currently have 12 horses, with the possibility of organizing trips with larger groups of up to 15 horses, thanks to partnerships with local stables. We train our horses using the Polkan system, which brings together time-proven best practices, skills and knowledge in the field of horse and human training. We achieve healthy partnerships with the noble animals within which both rider and horse are satisfied and happy.

The Location

The village of Zasele is located in the municipality of Svoge, 50 kilometers from Sofia in the heart of the Old Mountain (Stara Planina) along the Iskar gorge. The area is dotted with beautiful views of mountains, rivers, fields, peaks, lowlands and all other variations of beautiful terrain. Nearby are the Ivan Vazov eco trail and Skaklya waterfall, Bula peak, Elata cave, Pod Kamiko waterfall and eco trail and others. A day in this nature in the company of horses equals a lot of health, peace and happiness.

What do you offer for beginner riders?

If you are more inexperienced in the world of horse riding, we can offer you a riding lesson with a professional instructor in our manege, theory and practice for a better understanding of the horse-human relationship, riding for beginners in nature, as well as initial exercises for ground working with the horses. No matter which you prefer, you will always be accompanied by an experienced and knowledgeable riding instructor.Find out more here.

What do you offer for advanced riders?

If you are already experienced in horse riding, we are happy to offer you a variety of options from an advanced riding lesson in a manege, an advanced outdoor lesson to trekking with the horses on a variety of routes. We offer from 1-2 hour treks to routes lasting several days. In addition, we can do show jumping training in our arena, speed riding training, mountain riding and many more.Find out more here.

What activities do you have for companions?

If you want to watch your loved ones riding, you can sit in the comfortable relaxation area next to our pond for a drink - warm tea or wine, in the immediate vicinity of the arena, you can walk along one of the eco-paths, explore our library, you can go archery or ride off-road to beautiful views in the area. You can also have a picnic on our lawns.

How are you different from the bases in Sofia?

As much as we respect the capital and know that it is also at the foot of beautiful mountains, the big city cannot offer such clean air, such natural views and so much space and freedom. We have all this, as well as professional trainers, well-trained horses, clean food from the area, the possibility of trekking and training for beginners and advanced, walks in the natural beauty and much more. Everyone who has come to us at least once has not asked a similar question again.

Is it convenient to reach you?

You can reach us easily, conveniently and in several ways. After all, we are only 50 km away from the capital of Sofia, not far from the town of Svoge. If you are traveling by car, enter "Ranch Aurora" in the Google navigation and it will show you the way with great accuracy. You can also enter coordinates directly: "43.046100, 23.316392". The road is asphalt and well maintained all the way to the base itself.

If you don't have a car, you can come in 45-50 minutes from Sofia by train to Boff station. From there you can go up the Ivan Vazova eco trail or ask for a pick-up.

Alternatively, you can get off at the train station in the city of Svoge (30-40 minutes from Sofia) and take a bus or taxi to the village of Zasele, Ranch Aurora. There are an average of 3 minibuses per day between Svoge and Zasele, and taxis are only a phone call away.

What is the Polkan System?

The Polkan System was developed by our head trainer and instructor Antoniya Parapanova for training horses and riders. It includes a series of steps and an abundance of techniques based on the horse's natural psychology, body language, herd behavior and many other factors that determine the horse's understanding of its environment and the demands towards it. With the accumulated knowledge and practice-tested steps, any horse, regardless of age, gender or past, can become a good, faithful and happy partner for man.
